About
Aron Orton is an editor who has taken his love of storytelling and combined it with a deep interest in technology and innovation and built a career as an award- winning Director/ Editor.
His career began with the big idea of bringing digital editing in-house at a small boutique agency where he was interning. He cut his teeth on editing new business videos, corporate videos and spec spots. Within 5 years and a lot of late nights learning a new software called Avid, he turned it into one of the first award-winning in-house post facilities in Southern California.
Starting with a team of one he then built a post department that grew into a team of post producers, graphic artists, editors, and colorists.
For twenty years Aron has cut award-winning spots for major brands such as Old Spice, JBL, Kylie Cosmetics, Ryka, AT&T Entertainment, The Dodgers and countless others. Steph curry, Kelly Ripa, Kylie and Kendall Jenner are just some of the familiar faces that grace his spliced frames. Directors Theodore Melfi, The Morelli Brothers, and Michael Chaves have all been collaborators and mentors. He has also had the gift of working with advertising icons such as Marcus Nispel, Jimmy Smith, and Joe Pytka.
As the commercial business grew so did his interest in expressing himself and his talents in feature editing. In 2011 he was tapped to edit Delhi Belly, a genre-bending film from producer Aamir Khan and Disney/UTV. The film received the coveted Filmfare award for best editing and an 88% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes.
In 2010 Aron shot his first commercial as a director and was included in Shoot Magazine’s Director Showcase issue as The One To Watch.
He was then tapped to start an ad agency in-house production department and streamline their process as he pioneered with the post-production department.
He has directed commercials for LG, Wienerschnitzel, Old Spice, California Avocado Commission, as well as a VR spot for the LA County Fair. “I am, as they say in the business, a “Maker”
In 2017 Aron was the lead story and senior editor on the Fox Network live event, “Heaven Sent” completing a lifelong dream of working in all major mediums.
He has been finishing, conforming and color grading as a senior editor ever since.
First, and foremost Aron is a student of life. A lover of pop culture, theater, music and movies, anything that can take him somewhere he has never gone before or show him another perspective.
